Interesting discussion with a colleague yesterday. Many public health and IPAC professionals in Ontario understand aerosol spread but won't speak about it *because of peer pressure*.

20 months into a global pandemic. Peer pressure, like this is 8th grade.

@djjohnso Yes. But:
a) way over 1,000 hidden homeless in TO
b) TO doesn't give a fuck about them b/c they don't cost $. Housing First is a neoliberal policy - trying to find the 'expensive' "chronically homeless" & making them cheap. That's why @CAEHomelessness is so popular with the gov.

Councillor Carroll says: "we are not wealth redistributors with property tax" in Toronto - with 'cheap' houses at over $1 million.
We can't possibly raise taxes on rich property owners to help the dispossessed.

/10 Housing First policy is brutal and cruel. The requirement that people become “chronically homeless” before being able to access additional supports means that people have to be homeless for six months before getting additional help.

/7 Street Needs Assessment:
There is a significant increase in the number of “chronically homeless” people. Three-quarters (77%) of all unhoused people in the 2021 SNA were classified as “chronically homeless” (unhoused 6+ months).
