Ironically, one of the supportive housing sites they’ve said some would be moved to is 222 Spadina, a former motel that was turned into a youth shelter hotel in 2021. It was eventually decommissioned, and those youth were sent to 92 Peter Street. 92 Peter is now also closing.

@Homes_First manager Chris claimed they’d be “flagged” for supportive housing at 222 Spadina, but refused to put it in writing. We sent HF a letter threatening legal action if their disabilities weren’t accommodated. It was ignored. They were pushed to a congregate setting by 6pm

On Monday, two seniors were moved to a congregate setting, despite having health issues and disabilities that make life in a congregate setting impossible. They need ready access to bathrooms and showers. One was bedridden in the days leading up to the eviction.

Davood was only given two hours to pack and move to a shelter he was given no info about, except for the address:

Strathcona Update:

Days after issuing a letter saying that @Homes_First
residents had until April 12th to move, most HF floors have been cleared. Remaining residents were informed they have until March 25th (Saturday!) to leave. Lisa explains the coercion she’s experienced:
